This picture was taken in the fall of 2003. Jackie was home on her fall break from college. Diamond, our dog, is at her side. Diamond was always such a sweet, gentle, smart, and loving dog. She was fun and lively. She was shy, but she loved people and loved having company. When the girls had friends over, she thought they were visiting her. When Trick or Treaters came at Halloween, she was right at the door to greet them. Diamond was beautiful. I'm sad to say that Diamond died last week. She would have been 14 years old next month. She has left us with wonderful memories. We will miss our precious dog.

You're so right about animals being a part of the family and very special gifts. A chapter in our family has ended, but we're so grateful for the times we had with Diamond and the memories we'll always have. Thanks for your note.
